EXEMPLIFYING THE PERSON OF CHRIST

The Church is supposed to represent Jesus. That is why many who fall away from the faith or reject Christianity do so because of poor connection with particular church communities. Many will witness extravagant buildings and wealthy preachers yet will find no ministry which can help the poor and needy. Such instances have not turned away only a few people. That being said, the Church represents Christ on earth.

As Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Holy Spirit assists us in our modern state. Paul presents a metaphorical image of the Church as the body of Christ; this image points one to understand that the Church possesses almost a fill-in role for Jesus. In Jesus’ absence, we are to show the world His light, His love, and His hands. This is seen in Jesus’s teaching, that “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” This line suggests that there would be a time when He would be absent from the world, and when the light of the world would need to be heralded by another, namely, His people.

            To represent the body of Christ is an important responsibility, which is not bestowed upon only one person but upon the entire Church. We are merely components of His representation “for just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ,” (I Cor. 12:12 NRSV). “There may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another… Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it,” (12:25b, 27).

Being the body of Christ in the world is similar to operating in the ministry of salt and light. Christ possesses His own body presently, as well as the ontological and eternal salt and light of the world in a nearly literal sense; however, as His co-heirs, we are called to be the same as Him, so we may become unified with Him as “partakers of the divine nature” (II Pet. 1:4).

THE SHADOW OF SALT IN THE OLD COVENANT

The Old Testament mentions of a prefiguration of the Church’s salty ministry. When Elisha assumes the prophetic ministry of his predecessor, Elijah, he stayed in Jericho for some time. When he was there, the people approached him and said, “’The location of this city is good, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is unfruitful.’ [Elisha] said, ‘Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.’ So, they brought the new bowl to him. He then went to the spring of the water and threw the salt into it, and said, ‘Thus says the Lord, I have made this water wholesome; from now on neither death nor miscarriage shall come from it.’ So, the water has been wholesome to this day, according to the word that Elisha spoke” (II Kgs. 2:18-22 NRSV).

The above narrative has ample typological inferences. Firstly, the fact that the location of the city was good (since the foundations of the city were inherently and naturally good) is a typological instance of humanity’s natural goodness. We are made in God’s image, and are therefore naturally good creations of God; however, because of the Fall of Adam, many consequences are now shared by the whole humankind. This is seen in the people’s complaint, that although the location of the city is inherently good, “the water is bad, and the land is unfruitful.” The preceding passage directs us to the fallen nature of humanity and its need for cleansing and purification, just as the water and land within the city of Jericho needed to be cleansed and purified.

The “new bowl” Elisha requested is a foreshadowing of the New Covenant ushered in by Christ. The author of the Book of Hebrews writes, “There is, on one hand, the abrogation of an earlier commandment because it was weak and ineffectual (for the law made nothing perfect); there is, on the other hand, the introduction of a better hope, through which we approach God,” (Heb. 7:18-19 NRSV). Let’s symbolically correlate the “new bowl” Elisha requested as the new covenant ushered into the world by the ministry of Christ. In this context, we can understand that an “old” bowl would have proven inefficient to purify and cleanse Jericho, and that a “new bowl” was necessary in order to truly restore it so that it may be entirely good.

The waters which Elisha throws the salt in represent the earth, while the salted water itself represents Christ’s followers. To purify the water, Elisha poured salt into the river with a new bowl; likewise, in order to purify and cleanse the world, Christ created a ministry of salt for His disciples, pouring them into the world with a new covenant. The symbolism is difficult to miss.

In behalf of Zoe Ministries, I want to greet you a Happy New Year! I pray that this year will be prosperous and meaningful. Today, I want to talk to you about our ministry as Christians. I hope as I cast this vision, you receive it for 2018.

Since their inception, the social ideals of Christianity have long penetrated the fabric of the historical world. At the start of its mission, the social ministry of Christianity flourished throughout the nations, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and caring for the orphans and widows. Unfortunately, although there exist large corporations and para-church organizations designed to fulfill these tenants of the Christian order, the Christian laity has become, to phrase it bluntly, lazy. The social ideal of Christianity has been blotted out and pushed to the back burner in favor of ecclesiastical politics.

The social ideal of Christianity can be and has been defined by our Lord as a ministry of salt and light. “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled underfoot,” (Matt. 5:13 NRSV). This definition may certainly be lost on many of the gospel’s readers today; however, during the first century, salt was a mineral used to preserve food from spoil. By offering the symbolic imagery of His followers as the salt of the earth, Christ teaches us that our ministry in the world includes counteracting corruption and decay.

The ministry of the Twelve followed this example as they were guided by the divine truth in opposing spiritual, religious, and moral corruption in the world. Similarly, we must follow in their footsteps in seeking to combat the germs infiltrating the world: blasphemy, apostasy, and sin. If we are to change the world in any way, let alone kick-start any social or religious change in a decaying people, we must become the earth’s salt.

Preservation of Integrity

And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18

The preservation of integrity is something that not many people can do easily. However, when I thought of all you today, it was easy to write this message to you. I began to discover that the power of preservation lies within your ability to begin to feel the power of God within you moving you forward into a time that is ready to exist for you. Often times, people tend to say things they do not mean, or neglect to put much thought into their words and subsequent actions.

This is what makes integrity such a rare but admirable trait. All people want to be thought of as admirable, but not everyone is willing to commit to their word. In order to call yourself a person of high integrity, you must live up to moral codes, including the fulfillment of one’s promises.

It would help to keep in mind how your identity is tied to your integrity and your word. Knowing this, you will be more careful about the way you deal with others. I hear the word of the Lord saying that I am bringing you to a profound place in a position of great power. For this is the power you have prayed for and the place that you have longed to be. I the Lord your God are now awakening in you the power and the truth of your own word.

This will bring you to a new place of existence and cause you to stand in a new place of power in the earth saith the spirit of God. Everyone wants to like him or herself. If you want to be proud of who you are, become a person who is worth being proud of. Becoming someone you can admire starts woodworking on how well you can live up to the promises you’ve made both to other people and yourself. If someone breaks his or her promise, his or her credibility as a person is put into question. How can you make a stand for yourself when you do not even value your own word?

How can you become respectable if you have not learned to respect yourself by being true to what you say? Keeping a promise can be tricky for some people, however not for you. Even though this is something that is very important for any person’s sense of self, it is often taken for granted. You must remember how important your word is and how it should not be thrown around without care. Otherwise, you’re very identity will also be constructed carelessly and thrown around. I want you to go ahead and receive a free written prophecy which will make you wise in this season, that you are about to see:

Proper Thinking

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58 KJV

“I am what I am, I’m doing very well in my life, and I am thankful to God for that.” These are the words of LL Cool J speaking into his life. I have discovered that he is thankful to God for the life that God has given him. You came across my mind today as I thought of these words from LL Cool J.

Your breakthrough is about to come as you embrace proper thinking. Proper thinking is important in declaring who you are. When you do not have proper thinking, or you do not think about your actions then you will have a bad declaration, and bad situations will occur to yourself. You must not forget that you have a mind to think. You must always think about your actions and how will it affect the people around you as well as yourself.

Proper thinking leads you into right decisions, and you will reap the consequences.I hear the Lord saying that this is the hour that I am realigning your thinking and causing you to see things from a perspective that you have never viewed them before saith the Lord. You are beginning to come through some hurdles, and some hurts but this is the time that I am lifting your faith and causing you to declare a new victory for your life.

Take time to observe yourself. If you feel that you are experiencing the same thing over and over again, then you must think of the things that you decide and do. You must think and observe the things that you do and take time to accept comments from people that will help you see the situation in a different perspective. Proper thinking can save you time and regrets about your decisions.

With proper thinking, you are able to see the decisions that made things easy for you. You will see the decisions that have bad results in your life. Take time to observe yourself and review your actions, with proper thinking you are likely to make right decisions. Proper thinking can save you from having regrets in your future, and you will see that you did not waste your time on something that will not bring good for you.

I am requesting that you get that most holy book and read this holy verse of Scripture. There is going to be a miracle if you will follow the prophet‘s instruction and you will begin to see
some things turn around in four to eight days in your thinking as you meditate on this verse of Scripture over the next several days. As you are doing this, I want you to meditate on this
verse of Scripture that you are now about to read.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just; whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 KJV

God knows what you want to receive from your future. You don’t need to ask. But the Bible tells us to. Why? If God knows already, why do we need to declare these things in our lives? It is because God wants us to experience the privilege of asking the God of the Universe and the joy of receiving what we have asked for.

There is power with speaking things into the universe. It means we believe in them. When we claim God’s blessings, we receive them. Moreover, we do not take for granted the blessings we receive because we knew we specifically asked for these things.

The Bible tells us that when we prophesy that we will receive what we want by asking God, then we are able to see them come to pass. The passage shows that need for us to be direct. There is no need for us to go around in circles. We need to come to the point wherein we know that God would hear us and that He is willing to address our needs. Moreover, we need to come to the point wherein there is boldness to ask God because it means we have already accepted our place as His adopted children.

Living in the Now

In understanding how to live in the “Now” you must learn how to understand how time works and how God has fully designed it for your life and own good.

Time concepts are abstract constructs that man uses to understand time. These paradigms pertain to concepts such as simultaneity and duration as well as physical and psychological time developmental progress. Unlike animals, which are generally perceived as eternally living in the “present” without comprehension of time aspects, such as past and present, man has the ability to compartmentalize experiences and phenomenon into categories.

Human beings are made in such a special way. They are higher than the animals and a little lower than the angels. However, with all the vastness and greatness of the world, the Lord is mindful of us. We have the ability to discern and to use time to our power.

The purpose of God for how we are created can reveal a little something as to why we are created the way we are, different from all other animals. We have created to be like gods. God placed us in charge of the world he created in the sky, the waters, and the earth.

Man could compartmentalize within the general notion of the “time stream”: physical developments can be defined as “happened,” “happening,” or “will happen.” The following discussions elaborate on time concepts generally used by most individuals.

Understanding Tithing

The premise of tithing as an expression of grace is three-fold:

First, tithing acknowledges God as the source and owner of all that we possess. Tithing performs a role separate from that of unsystematic giving, which suggests that we believe we own all that we possess. Through tithing we acknowledge that God created our increase.

Second, tithing is a voluntary act of worship. At Bethel Jacob said:

If God will help and protect me on this journey and give me food and clothes, and will bring me back safely to my father, then I will choose Jehovah as my God! And this memorial pillar shall become a place for worship; and I will give you back a tenth of
everything you give me!

If you don’t already, you too should consider tithing — or giving more — as an act of worship. Through this act, you keep your focus on the heavenly Father and testify to His kindness and generosity toward you.

Third, tithing teaches us to put God first. Moses said, “The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.” Tithing as a systematic, purposeful plan for consistent giving enables you to circumvent the emotions and circumstances that would hinder you from being a faithful steward and, thus, from putting God first in your life. This prioritizing releases you from the tyranny of materialism and clears the channel for God’s additional and abundant blessings.

When we do something repeatedly it starts to become a part of who we are. If you consistently stick with a certain task. When we do something repeatedly it starts to become a part of who we are. If you consistently stick with a certain task so much so that it becomes almost automatic to you, then you have turned that act into a habit.   It is important to create good habits and practice them. Your daily actions and decisions determine the direction your life is heading towards. The power of prophecy allows you to get prophetic direction by giving you guidance through God’s words.

On the other hand if you do a good deed today but continue your bad habits tomorrow, then your single good trait cannot count as a habit. You must be committed to the habits of the kind of person you want to be. If you feel like doing behaving yourself for a day, let us say for example you choose to wake up early for that day, do not just leave it at that. Make good habits something you do everyday. In this way you will be honing the traits that lead you to excellence.

Changing Your Mindset

Worrying is an activity most of us waste our time on, but if we dispelled the urge to do so, we could be much closer to your goals in life. We worry because we think of the worst possible scenarios while we wait for the results. Some people like to think that way in order to avoid disappointment. That kind of thinking actually sets you up for disappointment. You must lead your thoughts into positive outcomes to lead your actions there more naturally. Instead of wasting precious time anticipating and assuming the worst, actively lead your destiny into success through actions. When you receive and experience the power of prophecy, you will realize that there is nothing to worry about. You will be empowered and will discover that you are able to achieve many things!

Positive energy is a powerful tool towards growth. When you develop a strong positive mindset nothing can get in your way. You will look at bad times as learning experiences and roadblocks as challenges. More opportunities open up for you because your outlook on the world is more open and accepting.

Obedience is Key

Obedience to His commands in every facet of our lives is the key to experiencing the presence of Christ and the joy of heaven. Jesus says, “The one who obeys me is the one who loves me…I will only reveal myself to those who love me and obey me. The Father will love them too, and we will come to them and live with them.

Are you experiencing the presence of Christ in your life? Do you know His joy, His love, His peace, the sense of His direction? If not, could it be that you are not obeying His commands? When you withhold the resources that God has entrusted to you for His work, He has little with which to bless you, and your life becomes unfruitful and unhappy.

I personally know of no greater joy than that of being an instrument of God to communicate the good news of the gospel to others. And that takes money. We are not our own anymore; we have been bought with a price, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our time, talents and treasure are our way of expressing gratitude to our great and glorious God and Father for all that He has done to fill us with His presence.

God Wants to Give You Freedom

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36 NIV).

The world defines freedom as a life without any restraint—“Do anything I want to do; say anything I want to say, without anybody telling me ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’” Like the song “My Way”: “Everybody got burned by me, but I did it my way!” “I left five marriages behind but I did it my way!” Total selfishness! “I had my freedom!” Yet, the Bible says the only way to true freedom is through Jesus: “If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free” (John 8:36 TEV).

Real freedom is freedom from fear, where you’re truly free from guilt, from worry, from bitterness, and from death. You’re free to quit pretending because you’re free to be yourself.

How do you get rid of those kinds of fears? By letting God love you! The apostle John teaches that, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18 NIV).

When you realize how much God loves you, you’ll begin to live in true freedom. In fact, you worship God when you recognize that “God is love.” It is an act of worship to agree that he is a loving, caring, generous God and that we can “rely on the love God has for us” (1 John 4:16 NIV).
